A three-bedroom terraced house in Burley in Wharfedale has been sold using Dacre, Son & Hartley’s auction service and generated a vast amount of interest with dozens of viewings and 131 bids.
The property on Farr Royd requires a full refurbishment and eventually sold for £260,000, which was £125,000 more than its guide price. In the weeks leading up to the end of the auction, 51 budding homebuyers and developers viewed the property.
Spread over three floors, the home offers a kitchen dining room, lounge, two first floor bedrooms with a WC, along with a second floor bedroom and bathroom. Outside there is a long lawned South facing rear garden, driveway parking and a garage, as well as a lawned front garden.
Dacre, Son & Hartley has partnered with the UK’s largest auction provider, iamsold, and offers the Modern Method of Auction (MMoA) across its 18-strong office network in North and West Yorkshire. The approach blends the transparency of traditional auctions with the convenience of online bidding, allowing buyers to make offers at any time of day and the company has already sold dozens of homes across the region for well above their starting prices.
Lesley Shakeshaft, from Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Burley in Wharfedale office, said: “This sale is a perfect example of how the right type of property in a sought-after location can create a very competitive bidding scenario. In the last 10 minutes alone, competing buyers bid an additional £39,000, which is a superb result for our vendor.”
